Did you know that March is Community Association Membership Awareness Month? You may not realise it, but within every community in Calgary - including Killarney-Glengarry - there is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping connect the dots between neighbours and businesses. Who knows, you may even have a KGCA board member living in your block!
In March, the Federation of Calgary Communities is promoting the benefits of community associations with a series of topics designed to get you talking and thinking - including:
1. Community associations provide endless opportunities right in your backyard 2. They are run by your neighbours 3. They offer a voice for your community, and 4. They bring neighbours together
Not everyone has the time or inclination to volunteer for these sorts of jobs, but it doesn't mean you can't offer your support. All you need to do is purchase/renew your membership today!
At only $25 per family per year, it's a small but important way to show that you want to be part of a connected community - one with events and activities to encourage us all to get to know each other - leading to greater knowledge of local businesses, safer streets and more vibrant neighbourhoods overall. Just because we live in a big city, doesn't mean we can't foster a sense of village.
