The City of Calgary is reviewing the Residential Parking Permit Policy and seeking input from you! Provide input online or at one of two open houses in June.
We are rebuilding the playground across from the Killarney Aquatic Center on 29th street SW. Follow us here to find out updates on the progress and ways to get involved. 3 years ago, Calgary embarked on a couple of big programs to help improve communities and green spaces. ImagineParks identified playgrounds that were unsafe and a Community Investment Fund was created to support their replacement. The playground on 29th scored a 4/5 on the 5 point 'safety code' scale meaning it is high priority for the city.
A group of local parents have piggy backed the replacement and decided it was a great opportunity to not just replace but to improve the whole space and make it a better community hub for families.
This project has been setup as part of the Killarney-Glengarry Community Association to enable fundraising and engage the community to improve one of the local parks!
- The original build date of August 21/22 was delayed as the supplier of rubber for the surface of the playground ran out!
- But, the old playground is now gone and we are all set for installation on September 25 & 26 2015
- Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help so far
- We are still looking for a few more volunteers to help inventory the supplies, document the install in photographs and help out with a launch party. If you think you can help, sign up online here or email Chelsea to find out more.
