The Killarney Glengarry Community Association (KGCA) is hosting a federal election all candidates debate on Friday, October 4, 2019, at the KGCA Hall (2828-28 St S.W) from 6:30-9:30pm.
The KGCA has been organizing debates for the past 15 years for Federal, Provincial and Municipal elections that often brings in 200 attendees. Our purpose is to offer candidates an opportunity to address issues pertinent to the upcoming election, allow constituents to get to know each other, and build a stronger, politically literate community, all while having a little fun with food. The food element of the debate is considered a grassroots work of public art within a community event that includes artistic social practice. This year, the candidates are asked to bring an authentic dessert pie that they may have made themselves. During the event, attendees will be blind taste testing and voting for the best pie. The winner is awarded the prized Golden Pie Server at the closing of the debate.
