The Killarney-Glengarry Community Hall, located at 2828 28 Street SW in Calgary, AB, is the premier venue for inner-city events. Our spacious function room is perfect for any occasion, including weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, graduations, and retirements. With a capacity of 120 guests seated at tables or 184 for lecture-style seating, it’s an ideal space for gatherings of all sizes.
Our versatile hall is also available for meetings, concerts, speeches, classes (such as yoga, Tai Chi, ballroom dancing, and meditation), and lectures. The main function room measures 51' x 45' and features a hardwood floor, carpeted areas, and abundant natural light through its many windows.
The facility is wheelchair accessible via an outdoor ramp and includes an attached full kitchen with two stoves and refrigerators. Whether you're hosting a community event or a private gathering, the Killarney-Glengarry Community Hall is the ideal inner-city venue for your needs. Renters also have non-exclusive access to the parking lot, playground, tennis/pickleball courts, and city field.

The cleaning fee is a mandatory fee for all rentals. After your event, the cleaning crew will handle general cleaning. This includes sweep/mop/vacuuming, wiping kitchen counters/appliances, taking out trash, sanitizing/restocking washrooms. Anything outside of this is your responsibility.

All set up and take down time must be included in the total rental hours. You will not be permitted to come in early or stay late. Overstaying your rental time is subject to penatly.

Alcohol may be served at your Event. However, you MUST obtain a liquor license from AGLC prior to your event and provide the General Manager at the hall with a copy no later than three (3) days before your event and display the license at your event. You can apply for a license here.

All one-time rentals for the hall must have a minimum rent of TWO HOURS. Rentals of the greenspace require THREE HOURS.
Weekly rentals can rent at a minimum of ONE HOUR.
Please note that all events can be no closer than two hours apart from one another to accommodate for the cleaning and resetting of the hall.

For all rentals, a damage deposit is required. Damage, if any, will be assessed after your event and any unused portions of the damage deposit returned.
Over 100 people = $1,500
50-100 people = $750
Less than 50 people = $500

All renters are subject to penalties which include:
$150 for use of rice, confetti, or bird seed indoors or outdoors.
$100 per half an hour of overstay
$350 for failure to close and lock main hall door behind you
$350 for leaving side doors in function room propped open/ improperly latched
$350 for a noise complaint, with or without police involvement
$100 for failure to close any and all windows
$350 for failure to return keys to the lock boxes and securely close the lock boxes
$100 for failure to turn out all lights except those in the main entry way
$50 for failure to remove garbage from the hall
You may not use tape, nails, or tacks on the walls of the Premises. If you do, damages will be deducted from your damage deposit. The use of 3M “Command” hooks and adhesives or other, similarly non-damaging materials is acceptable, but any damage to the walls resulting from the failure of such material is your responsibility.

Members of the KGCA receive a 20% discount on the rental cost only of the Main Hall and Lower Hall - add-ons are excluded from the discount. Memberships must be active at time of booking and for the day of the event.
Non-profit groups receive a 10% discount on the rental cost only. This is exclusive of a membership, such that a membership discount would replace this discount.
Charities and fundraisers receive a 50% discount on the rental cost only. Charity registration is required to provide at the time of booking.
Once or twice per year, KGCA may conduct a “sale” on hall rental time in order to make optimal use of the facility. This is NOT a bonus that renters can negotiate for. Discounts will only be offered for bookings made for specific dates.

Cancellation of your event 10 days or less prior to the scheduled date will result in the loss of 100% of your payment. Cancellation 10 days to 1 month prior to your event will result in the loss of 50% of your payment. Cancellation more than one month to 60 days before your event will result in the loss of 25% of your payment. There is no penalty for cancellations 61 days or more prior to your event.

We do not provide any food or beverage services, so you’re welcome to bring in any outside food or caterer you prefer.
Renters are responsible for supplying any decorations, glassware, dishes, cutlery or linens.
