KGCA Development & Planning Committee (DPC)
Are you considering a building or renovation project in Killarney–Glengarry?
The Development & Planning Committee (DPC) is a standing committee of the
Killarney-Glengarry Community Association.
Our role is to support thoughtful, well-planned development by contributing community
insight and local context to planning and land use matters in Killarney-Glengarry.
We advocate for development that respects the neighborhood’s history, supports
livability, responds to community needs, considers infrastructure and services, and
aligns with the long-term vision for both the community and the City of Calgary.
The DPC meets once per month, either in person or virtually. We are always interested
in new volunteers, especially those with a background in architecture or development.
Please contact development@kgca.ca if you are interested.
What we do
The Killarney-Glengarry Development & Planning Committee works to ensure that
community context and perspectives are meaningfully reflected in planning
and development decisions.
We:
• Review Development Permit and Land Use Redesignation applications
affecting Killarney-Glengarry
• Provide community-based input on planning and development matters to
the City of Calgary and other decision-makers
• Serve as a liaison between residents, applicants, and the City
• Help residents understand planning processes and how to participate in
them
• Monitor development activity and planning initiatives within the community
• Meet regularly with residents to identify what is important to our residents,
and learn about how we can preserve our character and identity
Through this work, the committee contributes to well-considered, context-sensitive, and sustainable development outcomes for the neighborhood.
