Legion 289

Local Legion 289 is located in the basement of the Killarney-Glengarry Hall at 2828 28 St. SW. Please use the side entrance, not the main hall doors, to visit.

Everyone is welcome—no membership is required! Families can enjoy the main area. The Legion hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including Steak Night, Horse Races, Crib Tournaments, Meat Draws, and much more.

The Legion is always looking for volunteers and new members. Visitors are invited to drop by or reach out for more information.

  • Saturdays: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Sundays: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM (Closed Sundays during the summer)

Happy Thursday to our Lovely Little Legion!

 I hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying our beautiful, sunny days. (When we have them!) 

Please see this email for the events that are happening this coming weekend! Remember that this will be the last of these events and meetings before we start back in September.

 Additionally, the following weekend on Saturday July 4, we will be having a Stampede BBQ at the legion. The KGCA will also be hosting a Stampede Market. Make your way down for fun, food, music, prizes, and more!!!

 Friday, June 26 - Steak Night

Come by for a tasty steak dinner that comes with dessert. Bring your friends and arrive early, we sell out fast!

$15 for members. $20 for non-members. 

 Sunday, June 28 - General Meeting (12:00) & Bingo (1:30)

Legion members are welcome to attend the general meeting!

The ONLY bingo in Calgary with 100% payout!

We are excited about all our new members and we can't wait to meet you all! Pop by this weekend for a drink and to check out the friendliest little legion!

‍ ‍Next Weekend

 Our Legion is hosting the annual Stampede BBQ at our #289 branch. Come hungry and ready to enjoy a good time with music by Prairie Chad, along with prizes and great fun! Dress western and make sure you bring a lawn chair for your convenience, as we will be outside, with limited seating. BBQ begins at 2:30. 

 The KGCA will also be hosting a Stampede Market on the same day. An all day event full of shopping, food, and family fun!
